To upgrade WordPress using the automatic upgrade feature, follow these instructions:

Log into your wp-admin dashboard. If there is a new version of WordPress, you should see a notice like this at the top:
- Make sure to backup your database and WordPress files before proceeding.
- Click on the link that says “Please update now.”

Click on the button that says “Upgrade Automatically“. After a few minutes you should see notices like the following:

NOTE: If the upgrade stalls at any point, check the error logs for any “memory exceeded” errors. If you are seeing these, you will need to increase the PHP memory_limit for your domain in order to use the auto updater.
- After upgrading WordPress, check if any plugins need to be updated by going to Tools -> Upgrade.
- Select all the plugins to update and click on the ‘Upgrade Plugins‘ button. You will see similar output to the core updater:
