WordPress Upgrade

To upgrade WordPress using the automatic upgrade feature, follow these instructions:

1. Log into your wp-admin dashboard. If there is a new version of WordPress, you should see a notice like this at the top:

   

2. Make sure to backup your database and WordPress files before proceeding.
3. Click on the link that says “Please update now.”
4. Click on the button that says “Upgrade Automatically“. After a few minutes you should see notices like the following:

   

   NOTE: If the upgrade stalls at any point, check the error logs for any “memory exceeded” errors. If you are seeing these, you will need to increase the PHP memory_limit for your domain in order to use the auto updater.

5. After upgrading WordPress, check if any plugins need to be updated by going to Tools -> Upgrade.
6. Select all the plugins to update and click on the ‘Upgrade Plugins‘ button. You will see similar output to the core updater:
